Having signed up for your exciting event challenge you might be thinking - What Do I Do Now and how am I going to raise all that sponsor money for MGA?

Well don't worry as here is where you will find some useful hints and tips to help get you started.

Fundraising Tips

  • Start as soon as you can and don't put it off - the longer you leave things the harder it will become
  • Set a target for yourself and be positive that you can reach it
  • Ask your company to sponsor you as many companies will match the funds raised by their employees
  • Tell everyone you know (and those you don't) what you are doing and ensure you always carry a sponsor form with you
  • Ask friends and colleagues to organise a fundraiser for you. They might donate their skills for you e.g. Dinner Party
  • Ensure you get your sponsors to Gift-Aid their sponsorship - this gives another 28p for every pound pledged
  • Make sure your first sponsor is a BIG one as others will often follow suit
justgiving

The internet is now one of the most-used and easiest ways of collecting your sponsor money! Go to www.justgiving.com and follow the on screen instructions to set up your own fundraising page. You can personalise your page with photos and information about you and your challenge.

Then ask people to sponsor you by e-mailing a request to everyone in your address book and include a link to your page. The money is collected by justgiving and automatically sent to MGA along with the Gift-Aid.
